FAQs

  • Why is Khaleeji doing this?
We at Khaleeji strive to develop our Credit Cards to provide clients with the best product & service possible. The current Shari’a structure limits our ability to do this as it is based on a “Qard Hasan + Ujrah” basis. By changing it to a “Murabaha” structure, as we have for other forms of Personal Financing, the bank has the flexibility to meet client requirements and offer the best service benefits in the market. For this reason, Murabaha has become the dominant structure for Shari’a-compliant Credit Cards in other GCC countries.

  • Why is the Murabaha amount larger than my Credit Card limit?
This is to provide maximum flexibility with minimum effort for our Credit Card holders. To address special or urgent requests for a temporary credit limit increase, the Murabaha amount is preset at 50% over the Credit Card limit, allowing the bank to extend credit limits on the spot without requiring the client to sign a new Murabaha agreement.

  • What will show in my BENEFIT Report?
Your BENEFIT Report will remain unchanged. The bank will continue reporting your Credit Card’s Limit and Outstanding Amount.

  • Does issuing a Supplementary Card require additional Murabaha?
No. Supplementary Cards utilize the same limit as the Primary Card.

  • Will this have any impact on how my Credit Card works?
No. Your Credit Card will continue to function in the same manner as it always has.

  • Will I still receive Cashback and Air Miles on the Covered Credit Card?
Yes. All available Credit Card features and benefits will remain the same.
